Aim: To consider what makes good market research and start a draft of a questionaire to help me plan my magazine.

      What makes an effective and helpful questionnaire?

-Elaboration of the questions/answers.

-Attractive layout.

-Useful/helpful questions.

-Make sure the question is in a logical order.

-Give examples on what you're talking about.

-Use the word "Prefer".

-Make sure there's an option for everyone (have an "other" option).

-Ask precise questions.

-Limit their responses to get quick and short results.

-A likert scale is a question which measures a response to a question towards a particular subject.

-A Semantic Differential Scale is a scale that uses numbers to measure the response to a certain subject using numbers.


              Topics I will need to ask about in my questionnaire:

-Genres.
-Streaming/Downloading/listening.
-Social media networks/blogs they use or read.
-If they go to gigs/festivals (shakedown, Brighton festival, ETC).
-Music magazines.
-Access to technology, IE, if they have smartphones or tablets.
-Hobbies.
-If they buy merchandise.
-Preferred artist.
-Favourite front cover  from a range.
-Preferred mag title and stamp lines from a list.
-Colour scheme of 3
-Preference of font.
-Preference of features in the mag.
-Preference of style of language and tone used in magazines.
-Representation of males and females.
-Where they live (Brighton, London, ETC)

What makes a good questionnaire evaluation?
-Talk about the results fully.
-Talk about each question at once.
-Talk about weaknesses.
-Clearly explain what your results mean.
-Mention any unexpected results.
-Explain what the point of it is.
-A logical order of explaining what you learned from each question, starting from the top.
-Was the group of people I gave it to helpful? Were they really my target audience?
-How could I have done this better?
-How could I have improved the style of questions?
-What other ways could I have improved my style of questions?
