Aim: To analyse music magzines, considering how their genre is conveyed and the typical features of a front cover.

Music Magazines I Have Read / Bought:

I have only bought The Source (Brighton) before.

Magazine title: NME.

Publisher: NPC Media.

Target audience: Young adults are appealed because they are more likely to be into indie music (18-30).





















Genre: Indie Rock.

Main Bands Featured: Radiohead, Noah and the Whale, Mumford and Sons, Primal scream, ETC.
A Selection of Article Subjects: Most of the bands/artists are talking about legal issues they are fighting for the spotlight, other bands say how they have a really popular performance coming up soon.

Description of 3 male photos: They are represented as popular and undying symbols of rock and pop that will never die .

-Found in NME magazine.
Festivals are very popular in the music industry, people that enjoy going to festivals also enjoy going to gigs. ETC.


Description of 3 female photos: woman are usually symbols of music/happiness that attract the male readers while showing the female readers that the genre reaches put for almost everyone.

 
Summery of products advertised: The front cover of the magazine is made to draw you in, so you take one look and you should be interested, then you start to read what's inside and when you find that you enjoyed reading it then they hope you buy it.
The adverts inside the magazine vary from the sponsors of the magazine to adverts for more indie rock bands while remaining on topic.
