Why is the role so important?: It is important to affect the reader immediately otherwise they will not even consider picking up the magazine.
What are they responsible for?: They are responsible for a team of artists and illustrators.
Who provides the illustrations?: External and freelance agencies.
How do magazines source their images?: Photographers, libraries, PR companies and freelancers.
What should photos in a magazine illustrate to the reader?: They should quickly show what they are about to read in that article, and any people that feature in it.
Corbis is a massive picture agency.
